ACorWeld — Maciej Kochel
Independent inspection for steel structures — from the first weld to the final coat.
Welding & Coating Inspector · International Welding Engineer · FROSIO Level III · QA/QC · NDT Level 2
Most projects treat welding and corrosion protection as two separate disciplines, checked at two different stages — exactly where non-conformities slip through and claims start later. I cover both, so your structure is checked as one continuous quality story.
About
I'm a welding and coating inspector with over a decade in structural steel — from military engineering vehicles and rail rolling stock to offshore wind foundations. I started in design and process engineering, moved through welding coordination and quality-system building for industrial fabricators, and progressed to Principal Welding Engineer roles managing multiple branches and dozens of welders.
Today I work client-side as a Primary Steel Welding Engineer on one of the North Sea's major offshore wind projects, while building a parallel specialisation in corrosion protection and coating inspection — so I can follow a structure's full quality story, not just half of it.
There's no room for "it'll probably be fine" in industrial quality control. My approach is simple: no compromises. I hold welding and corrosion-protection work to the same standard, so the structures I sign off on are safe, standards-compliant, and built to outlast their design life.
What that combination means for you:
- One point of contact, not two handovers — the same person who checks your welds also checks the surface prep and coating that protects them.
- Client-side experience — I know what a project owner needs to see in a report, not just what a fabricator wants to hear.
- Systems, not just sign-offs — I've built ISO 3834 / EN 1090 certification programmes from scratch, not only audited existing ones, through to successful TÜV audits.
